The company's announcement comes following a consortium, led by Bombardier Transportation, bagging a multi-billion contract in Australia for Queensland new generation rolling stock project.
The Savli plant will also supply train coaches to the company's production facility in Australia, a Bombardier release said.
"Our site in Savli in Vadodara will be involved in manufacturing new commuter trains in Australia and supplying bogies to our sites in Australia," the company said.
Under the contract, Bombardier will deliver a new fleet to handle increased capacity on commuter services in South East Queensland, it said.
Bombardier's scope for this project includes the supply of the 75 electrical multiple units (EMUs) and maintenance for 30 years.
