The facility which manufactures more than 60 specific power tools including eight types for artisans and tradesmen, is part of the Make-in-India programme announced by the government to boost manufacturing, the company said.
The Oragadam plant in Chennai, the first manufacturing facility of Bosch Power Tools in India, has a capacity of producing two million power tools every year, it said in a statement here.
Panish PK, Regional Sales Director and Business Head - India and SAARC - Bosch Power Tools, said, the 5 millionth rollout marks an important milestone in their journey over the past 14 years. India is one of the most important and fastest growing markets for Bosch Power Tools globally, he said.
