Boy dies after accidental fall in school playground

In a freak mishap, a 14-year-old student of a government high school died following an accidental fall in the school playground in Odisha's Kendrapara district today.
The victim boy has been identified as Suryakant Swain, a 9th standard student of Sidhamarichani High School in Bagada village on the outskirts of the district headquarters township, the police said.
The incident took place when Swain, while tossing up a cricket ball, slipped and sustained injuries on the rear portion of his head.
He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said.
The body has been sent for post mortem.

An unnatural death case has been registered in this connection, said Sub Divisional Police Officer, Kedarnath Sahu adding, the incident was being investigated.
