12-year old boy died after a roadside palmyra tree fell on the car in which he along with his family was travelling near here today, police said.
Valathi Devar(40) and his family members were reutuning to thier native place Rajavallipuram in the district after attending a marriage this evening when the tree fell on the vehicle due to strong wind.
Son of Devar was injured in the incident and was rushed to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital where he died without responding to treatment.
The other four occupants of the car escaped unhurt.
