A nine-year-old boy died when he fell into an elevator shaft after being hit by it while on its descent from a top floor of an apartment complex here on Sunday, police said.
The incident occurred at about 5 pm when the victim, a student of 'Ved Patashala' tried to get into the lift on the third floor of the building and opened its door even as the elevator was coming down.
He was hit by the lift on his head and fell into the shaft and died, they said adding a case has been registered and ivestigation is on.
