BSF finds footprints near Indo-Pak border, launches search

The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Kutch district police have initiated a joint search operation near the India-Pakistan border in the Rann of Kutch after spotting some suspicious "footprints".
An official of BSF (Gujarat Frontier) said that the footprints suggested that 'a camel-party' consisting of three persons and two camels may have crossed the border near Vighakot to the north of Bhuj town. The border is not fenced in this area.
"BSF men have not seen any Pakistani smuggler or person. We found footprints of three persons and hoofmarks of two camels. BSF and police have launched a joint search operation. No specific information is received yet from the border villages about any suspects," said the official.

"We are still verifying whether someone crossed the border and went to Pakistan from Gujarat with camels or came here from Pakistan. It is also possible that stray camels from Pakistan came here to drink water and returned, which usually happens because the area does not have any fence," said the official.
