The abductors brandishing arms and guns waylaid the BSNL executive Naresh Dandapata (42) and abducted him in a moving car, police said.
The operation was carried out swiftly by the miscreants, the police said adding that the onlookers could get the whiff of the crime after the abducted man raised alarm inside the car.
Police are clueless regarding the motive of the crime.
A special squad has been constituted to nab the culprits, police said.
