The protesters, led by state unit BSP president Vilas Garud, blocked traffic for few minutes before police dispersed them.
The workers raised slogans against Singh, who has been expelled by BJP in the wake of his intemperate slur against the BSP chief, and also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and Maharshtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
"We dalits are very much anguished over the sort of language used by Singh against Mayawati. We want to tell them to refrain from using such derogatory comments in future," Garud told a gathering at Azad Maidan.
BSP workers also burnt posters of Modi as well as BJP's party flag while demanding arrest of Singh.
"We want Singh to be arrested so that in near future nobody should dare to repeat such an act of abusive words against our leader," said Garud.
