Businessman held for molesting minor

A 32-year old Nashik-based businessman has been arrested for allegedly molesting a minor girl on the pretext of teaching her black magic, police said today.
The accused, Damodhar Bhanudas Awhad, was arrested last night following a complaint filed by the 16-year-old girl yesterday, Vartak Nagar police sub-inspector S A Chavan said.
In her complaint, the girl alleged that the accused had befriended her family members sometime back and took them in confidence to teach her 'black magic', they said.
He started frequenting the victim's house here and allegedly started molested her repeatedly, the police official said, adding that the accused had also threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed anything to her parents.

The victim also alleged that Damodhar had sent obscene messages on her Facebook account.
The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act , 2012, Information Technology Act, 2012 and section 354(d) (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
Further investigation in the matter is on, police added.
