Additional SP Avishek Modi said local people damaged a police van from Ratua p.S which went to the spot to nab the snatcher who was caught by the public while escaping.
According to preliminary information, the businessman was way back home after collection of Rs 47,000 in cash when he was attacked by the snatcher near Samsi railway station.
The mob also agitated on nearby highway.
