Bypoll to a vacant Bihar legislative council seat on Feb 11

Bypoll to a vacant seat in the Bihar Legislative Council will be held on February 11, the Election Commission said here today.
The seat fell vacant following the resignation by sitting MLC Bhim Singh of JD(U) on October 23 last year. He would have, otherwise retired on May 6, 2018.
Singh had resigned as a member of the upper house of the state legislature and joined BJP during the state assembly elections.
While the notification would be issued on January 25, February one is the last date of filing nominations, the Commission said.
The bypoll as well as the counting will be held on February 11.
Members of the legislative assembly vote to elect members of the legislative council.
