The electoral roll for the constituency, going to byelection on December 21, had already been frozen and no additions can be made now, the official said.
He was responding to reports about a few individuals allegedly posing themselves as election officials and collecting forms for inclusion of names in the constituency. The forms were sold for Rs 20.
"We will take action against those persons. We will send the flying squad to the venue..", the official told PTI.
"Now it (the electoral roll) has been frozen. We are not holding any camps", he said.
A senior police official said they have not received any complaints but would take action if such an incident had taken place.
The bypoll has been necessitated by the death of sitting MLA and late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in December last year.
