The incident occurred on Saturday near Malewahi village under Mardoom police station limits where road construction work is underway and no was hurt in the incident, Deputy Inspector General (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sundarraj P told PTI.
He said a group of armed ultras arrived at the construction site between Malewahi and Kadenar villages, located around 350 kilometres away from the state capital Raipur, and threatened workers to leave the spot.
Before fleeing, the Naxals set on fire three mixture machines, one tractor, one pick up van and a motorcycle, the DIG said.
A police team has rushed to the spot and combing operations were underway to nab them, he added.
