Cabbie, friend held for molesting woman passenger

A cabbie and his friend were arrested for allegedly molesting a woman who had hired their car for travelling to Vijayawada, police said today.
The driver, identified as D Venu, and his friend B Immanuel (both 25), were arrested last evening at Chintalkunta check-post by the Special Operation Team of Rachakonda Commissionerate.
The incident occrred on March 1 when the woman (22), a hair stylist, hired the car for visiting her native place.
"After crossing the L B Nagar bus stop here, the cab driver Venu started misbehaving with the woman along with his friend Immanuel. When she raised an alarm, Immanuel got down from the car while Venu proceeded towards Chotuppal and started molesting the complainant. When she again started screaming, he pushed her out of the car and fled," said Rachankonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat.
