Several pacts and proposals were approved ex-post facto at a meeting of the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here, including a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) signed between India and Germany on cooperation in the field of health.
The cabinet approved to enhance the age of superannuation of general duty medical officers of the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles from 60 to 65 years.
It also gave an ex-post facto approval to enhance the age of superannuation of specialist medical officers of the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles of the Ministry of Home Affairs from 60 to 65 years.
Under the pact, the two countries will cooperate with each other in capacity building of the health staff, prevention and control of communicable diseases, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, drugs, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment among others.
"A working group will be set up to further elaborate the details of cooperation and to oversee the implementation of the MoU," the statement added.
The government also approved the signing of a JDI between India and Germany on cooperation in the field of health. It was signed on June 1.
