The city has three Lok Sabha constituencies Bangalore North, South and Central- all held by BJP. There are total of 63 candidates in the fray from Bangalore, with 14 from North, 26 from Central and 23 from South.
The city is witnessing three cornered contests between BJP, Congress and JDS, mainly between the first two. AAP has also fielded candidates in all the three constituencies, as it seeks to make an impact on the conscious urban electorate.
Nilekani's former colleague at Infosys V Balakrishnan is AAP's candidate from Bangalore Central where is pitted against BJP's incumbent P C Mohan and Rizwan Arshad of the Youth Congress.
Bangalore North will see straight battle between former Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda of the BJP and Congress' Narayanaswamy. Abdul Azeem is the JDS candidate.
