Cancer patient commits suicide

A 56-year-old woman suffering from cancer hanged herself to death apparently due to depression over her health condition, police said here today.
Beena Verma, who had been battling cancer for past eight months, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling last evening when she was alone at her house in Juhi Lal Colony here, they said.
Beena's husband Gopi Shyam Verma found the body when he returned home later in the evening, following which he informed the police.
In another incident, a truck driver committed suicide in Babupurva Labour colony area here.
35-year-old Sanjay Verma was an alcoholic and as usual he had returned home last evening in an inebriated condition.

Sanjay allegedly thrashed his wife over an argument after which he went inside his room and hanged himself from the ceiling using his wife's saree, police said.
