Cardamom falls by 0.4% on sluggish spot demand

Profit-booking by speculators at existing prices affected prices

Cardamom futures lost 0.43% to Rs 802.30 per kg on the back of sluggish demand at the spot market against ample stocks.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August contracts slipped by Rs 3.50, or 0.43%, to Rs 802.30 per kg with a business turnover of 287 lots.

Cardamom for delivery in September fell by Rs 2.20, or 0.27%, to Rs 790.50 per kg with a trading volume of 24 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing prices, fall in demand at spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures market.
