Cardamom prices moved up by 0.88 per cent to Rs 1,335 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from spot market on pick up in demand.
Besides, tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing regions supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month went up by Rs 11.70, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 1,335 per kg in business turnover of 118 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January month traded higher by Rs 10.60 or 0.78 per cent to Rs 1,375 per kg in 51 lots.
Traders said fresh positions created by traders following pick up in demand at the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
