Falling for the second straight day, cardamom prices tumbled 3.92 per cent to Rs 603.10 per kg in futures trading today as participants engaged in reducing their positions, triggered by ample stocks at spot markets on higher supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month dropped by Rs 24.60, or 3.92 per cent to Rs 603.10 per kg in business turnover of 60 lots.

In a similar manners, the spice for delivery in January 2016 shed Rs 1.40, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 706.40 per kg in 104 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by sufficient stocks on higher supplies from producing regions in the physical market against sluggish demand mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
