A kidnap case was registered today against the parents of the woman and a woman sub-inspector of police, who was suspected to have tipped-off the family about the couple's whereabouts, they said.
The SI was also allegedly travelling in the same bus, police said.
The case was registered based on a complaint from the woman's husband Sankar that his in-laws intercepted the bus and whisked away his wife last evening.
The petitioner had alleged that his daughter was being kept in illegal custody and sought a direction to police to produce her in the court and set her at liberty.
