Case of death under mysterious circumstances registered

A case of death under mysterious circumstances was registered by the police as per Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code, after a half-burnt body of a 15-year-old girl named Ronanki Chandana was found yesterday, a police official said here today.
No scratches or marks were found on her body to indicate rape or murder, but her body was sent for autopsy and a forensic report is being awaited, a police inspector said.
Family members of the dead girl from Mamidivanipeta village under Yelamanchili village panchayat in Kotabommali mandal of Srikakulam district said that she immolated herself after her marriage was fixed with her 30-year-old maternal uncle.

Her family members said that she went to the field in the evening to bring grass for the cattle, but failed to turn up, after which they began searching for her, only to find her half-burnt body.
