Castor seed prices restored by Rs 14 to Rs 4,091 per quintal in futures trade today on creation of fresh positions at existing levels in tandem with rebounding prices at physical markets.
Market players attributed the uptrend to recovery in prices at spot markets due to fall in supplies amid rise in industrial demand for soap, paint and lubricant industries.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castor seed delivery for May improved by Rs 14 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 4,091 per quintal, in an open interest of 65,230 lots.
The delivery of the second contract for June also moved up by Rs 13 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 4,139 per quintal with a business turnover of 35,640 lots.
