Marketmen said expansion of holdings by participants on firm trend at the domestic physical markets on robust demand against tight supplies and positive overseas cues, kept castorseed prices higher.
Besides, pick up in export demand too supported the upside, they added.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for August rose by Rs 59, or 1.32 per cent, to Rs 4,527 per quintal, with an open interest of 31,880 lots.
