manager of the Kishanganj branch of Bank of India (BOI) in Bihar on a charge of taking a bribe of Rs 12,000 to pass a group loan.
CBI Deputy Inspector General (DIG) V K Singh said, "One Kasif Ahmad had faxed a complaint to us on September 22 that the branch manager Om Prakash and his bank agent Mamata Jain was demanding money...To pass a group loan."
Singh said the complaint was verified by the sleuths yesterday and after filing an FIR, a team from CBI's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught the branch manager today as he was accepting the graft for two persons.
The CBI DIG said that the complaint was a result of encouraging the public to inform about bribery demands via SMS.
