It was alleged that the officials of Central Excise Department posted at Ahmednagar (Maharashtra) demanded bribe of Rs eight lakh from the complainant for settling the matter of imposition of Excise Duty on the products of the factory owned by his son.
After negotiations, the official allegedly reduced the bribe amount to Rs four lakh on the request of the complainant and also threatened him that they will raid and seal his factories in case of non-delivery of the bribe amount.
