A CBI team after getting information reached Ambala Railway Divisional office at Ambala Cantt and nabbed JE Rajinder Kumar while he was allegedly taking bribe from the railway contractor today, sources said.
The railway contractor had filed a complaint with CBI office at Chandigarh alleging that the JE had been demanding Rs 15,000 from him for clearing his pending bills and allotting new construction work.
The CBI team also recovered the bribe amount from the engineer and registered a case under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused.
