CBI today filed its reply in a local court opposing the application filed by Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, seeking bail on medical grounds.
Indrani's application, filed on February 5, says her health was deteriorating.
CBI said in the reply that she was being provided with medical treatment at Byculla women's prison here where she is lodged.
She was being given nutritious food from the jail canteen and as per the medical reports, her condition was good, it said.
Indrani's application claimed she was suffering from frequent black-outs. She had developed 'chronic small vessels ischemic changes' and as a result supply of oxygen to the brain may get interrupted, leading to brain stroke which could be life-threatening, it said.
It also said that when she fell unconscious in jail last October, it took more than six hours for the treatment to start.
Indrani, her current husband and former media baron Peter Mukerjea, former husband Sanjeev Khanna, and her former driver Shyam Rai have been arrested in the Sheena Bora murder case. CBI has filed two charge sheets in the case.
Sheena (24), Indrani's daughter from an earlier relationship, was murdered on April 24, 2012. The murder came to light only last year.
The hearing on the bail application may take place next week.
