Commission Chairman Abid Rasool Khan made this plea during a meeting with Union Minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptulla here over the weekend.
During Heptulla's visit here, Khan briefed her on the activities of the Commission, its findings and also the surveys conducted by the panel.
Khan today said that he told the Minister the Commission has compiled a detailed report on illegal sale, transfer and lease and also misappropriation of funds and grabbing of Wakf properties for the past 15 years in AP and Telangana.
"I will soon submit a report of the Commission to the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, besides the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, seeking a CBI inquiry into the Wakf affairs in both states," Khan said.
Khan said he has been assured by the Minister of appropriate action in regard to CBI probe after the report is received.
