CBI registers 502 graft cases against central govt staff till

The CBI has registered 502 cases of corruption against central government employees till October 31 and charge sheets have been filed in 124 of these, Union minister Jitendra Singh today said in Rajya Sabha.
Replying to a question in the House, Singh cited data which showed that 502 cases were registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against central government employees till October 31.
According to the data, charge sheets were filed in 124 cases and 372 cases were under investigation. Departmental action has been recommended in three cases. The rest have been closed or disposed off.
In 2013, the agency had registered 596 graft cases. In 2014, 607 cases were registered and in 2015, the agency had filed 576 cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
