CBI registers embezzlement case against postal dept officials
Press Trust of India Visakhapatnam The officials of Visakhapatnam branch of CBI have registered a case against a branch postmaster and three other officials on the charge of misappropriation of Rs 1,53,77,868 meant for disbursal under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
A CBI release said that between October 2013 and November 2015, postmaster Talla Narayana Rao of Sativada branch post office, Rangabhatla Venkata Narasimha Satya Sai Sakuntala, Sub-Postmaster, Sub-Post Office, Gara; P Trinadh, Mail Overseer, West Sub-Division, Srikakulam; and Mule Srinivasa Reddy ,Asst Superintendent of Post Offices, West Sub-Division, Srikakulam, embezzled this money.
Searches were also conducted at their houses at Sativada, Gara, Srikakulam and Muralinagar and some incriminating documents were found. Further probe is on.
