The ex-CMO (Family Welfare) of Banda in Uttar Pradesh, a former surveillance medical office (Store), an ex-chief pharmacist, proprietor of a Meerut-based pharmaceutical company and others were alleged to have caused a loss of nearly Rs six lakh to the government exchequer.
"It is alleged that during 2010-11, then chief medical officer entered into criminal conspiracy with then SMO, then chief pharmacist, proprietor of Meerut-based pharmaceutical company and others.
"In furtherance of this criminal conspiracy, the accused fraudulently and dishonestly purchased Iron Folic Acid and Albendeazole tablets violating the purchase procedure; circulars; orders, financial rules and PIP at exorbitant rates and prepared forged documents as genuine and thus caused alleged huge loss to the NRHM funds," CBI spokesperson said here today.
