The CBI today sought logistic support from Odisha government in its effort to expedite investigation into the multi-crore chit-fund scam.
CBI DIG S Bagchi met special secretary home department seeking immediate allotment of two government quarters, some vehicles and staff.
"Yes, the CBI DIG met me and sought office accommodation, parking place, vehicles and staff. We have asked the general administration department for quarters and police headquarters for staff and vehicle," said Special Secretary (Home) Lalit Das.
Besides, the CBI also sought at least ten investigating officers, furniture, computers and 10 vehicles.
Bagchi also met Crime Branch ADG B K Sharma in Cuttack and discussed several cases regarding the chit fund scam.
The senior officer also met the CBI advocate and discussed how speedily the cases, which were currently lying with different courts in the state, could be disposed off.
On May 9 this year, the apex court had ordered a CBI probe into multi-crore chit fund scams in West Bengal, Odisha and Assam.
