Replying to a question in Rajya Sabha, Health Minister JP Nadda said, "In the period 2012-15 (upto November 30), CBI has registered 104 cases/enquiry related to NRHM."
So far, no one has been found guilty in the matter. "As per information from CBI, so far, no case has been decided in the trial courts," Nadda said.
He said investigation in each case is dependent upon the nature of crime involved, quantum of work required to be done, availability of suspects etc.
Under NRHM, support is being provided to states/UTs for strengthening of their healthcare systems. While the primary responsibility to ensure proper utilisation of NRHM funds is that of states/UT governments, various corrective measures were taken by the Central governments for improving financial management system.
