A case to trace Kiran Kumari, aged about 29 years, was registered by the agency on the direction of Delhi High Court in February 2014.
It was alleged that the woman, a native of Tuglakabad in Delhi, was missing since May 23, 2012.
The CBI took over the investigation of the case which was earlier registered at Pul Prahaladpur police station here.
Besides taking all other necessary steps to trace the missing woman, a reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced.
Strenuous efforts were made to trace the woman at various locations in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and nearby areas, a press release issued today by the CBI said.
