The ministry of civil aviation cleared a proposal for Jewar airport in UP last year. It will be the second airport in the national capital region and is expected to be ready in the next five years.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority's chairman posted on Twitter that time-lines for readying the airport were also discussed at today's meeting.
"Secretary, Civil Aviation GOI with officers of MoCA & AAI visited YEIDA to discuss progress of Jewar airport, visited airport site and appreciated the progress made and time-lines set by us," tweeted Prabhat Kumar, Chairman of YEIDA.
