Delhi Police has registered a case based on a complaint by a central government official alleging that he was beaten up by several women at the behest of a woman MLA of AAP and other party workers during an illegal slum removal drive.
After receiving the complaint, the police have registered an FIR under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of IPC against unnamed persons at the RK Puram police station in south Delhi, said a police source.
The complaint attached with the FIR alleged that Aam Aadmi Party's RK Puram legislator Parmila Tokas had instigated the assault.
The legislator could not be reached for comments even after several attempts.
The complainant told the police that he, along with his team, had gone to remove some shanties at an illegal slum cluster in Sector 12 of RK Puram around 12 noon on December 15. The procedure took around two and a half hours during which Tokas and her husband, along with some AAP workers reached the spot.
"The party workers led by the MLA and her husband obstructed the procedure and later they incited a group of women, who resided in the area, to attack me," said the official in the complaint, based on which the police took up investigation but no person has been arrested so far.
