"The Centre had sent adequate security forces to Uttar Pradesh during the recent communal riots in Muzaffarnagar.
"In fact, the state had been given more than it had asked for. The state cannot complain that there was a paucity of security personnel," the Union Minister said.
When asked about the possibility of a CBI probe into the riots, Singh said, "For that a recommendation from the state government it essential.
Singh expressed hope that Judicial panel probing the riots will do a fair job.
"We hope that the judicial inquiry ordered by the state government will be able to meet the deadline in submitting its report. We also hope that the contents of the report will be made public so that those held accountable for the violence are brought to justice in a transparent manner," he said.
