"The Punjab government had written to the Prime Minister and the Home Ministry in June 2006 and March 2009 demanding compensation for 32,514 families who have been the victims of terrorist attacks in the state. An amount of Rs 781 crore was demanded for this purpose," BJP leader Dr Baldev Raj Chawla said.
He said though the Central government had granted their demand but did not fix any amount for it.
"We again wrote to the Prime Minister two months back demanding immediate disbursal of compensation to help the victims of terror attacks financially," Chawla said.
