In a letter to Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna yesterday, Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh said an Empowered Committee has recommended clearance of 166 road projects, including upgradation of 42 roads in flood-hit areas of the state under XII phase of PMGSY worth Rs 771.07 crore.
A copy of the letter circulated to the media today mentioned that as per the advice of the Committee, Ramesh asked the state government to expeditiously send a compliance report about certain technical observations of the panel prior to the clearance of these proposals.
The maximum number of 27 road projects will be taken up in Tehri, followed by 24 in Dehradun, 21 each in Chamoli and Pauri and 18 in Haridwar.
