This was stated by Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh after he met Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in Nirman Bhawan here today.
Singh, who was accompanied by state Health Minister Kaul Singh and Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, met Azad to seek increased central funding for projects and schemes.
Azad decided to immediately release Rs 5 crore each to nursing institute in Mandi, Chamba and Nahan towns and Rs 2 crore for the Kullu institute, according to an official statement.
The Himachal Chief Minister had sought enhancement of central assistance from the present Rs 155 crore to Rs 205 crore under the National Rural Health Mission.
He said a separate website of NRHM will be launched in the state in a week's time to inform people about various schemes so that they could come forward to avail benefits.
For improving infrastructure and research facilities at the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla, Singh demanded that the hospital be covered under the Prime Minister Health Security Scheme.
He also demanded an increase in the budget for the Tanda Medical College and the Indira Gandhi Medical College.
