Azad decided to immediately release Rs 5 crore each to nursing institute in Mandi, Chamba and Nahan towns and Rs 2 crore for the Kullu institute, according to an official statement.
The grants will be released within a week, it said.
The Himachal Chief Minister had sought enhancement of central assistance from the present Rs 155 crore to Rs 205 crore under the National Rural Health Mission.
He said a separate website of NRHM will be launched in the state in a week's time to inform people about various schemes so that they could come forward to avail benefits.
For improving infrastructure and research facilities at the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla, Singh demanded that the hospital be covered under the Prime Minister Health Security Scheme.
