CERN scientists conferred with honorary D.Sc

CERN Director General Rolf-Dieter Heuer and its scientist Bikash Sinha, associated with the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, were today conferred with honorary Doctor of Science degree by the National Institute of Technology here.
President Pranab Mukherjee, who was the chief guest at the institute's convocation, conferred degrees on Heuer and Sinha.
Professor Rudiger Voss of CERN received the award on behalf of Heuer, who could not be present on the occasion.
NIT, Agartala also put forward a proposal to CERN for collaborative activities, its registrar Sumanta Chakraborty said.
