Chana down 0.4% on subdued demand

Commodity for delivery in October edged down by 0.39%

Chana prices declined 0.41% to Rs 2,889 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid a weak trend in spot markets on sluggish demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in November declined by Rs 12, or 0.41%, to Rs 2,889 per quintal with an open interest of 1,07,310 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in October edged down by Rs 11, or 0.39%, to Rs 2,791 per quintal in 35,500 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in chana futures to sluggish demand in markets against adequate stocks position.
