Increased supplies and expectations of higher output from producing regions also put pressure on chana prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in August eased by Rs 17, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 2,813 per quintal with an open interest of 1,52,370 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in September lost Rs 16, or 0.55 per cent to Rs 2,900 per quintal in 52,550 lots.
Market analysts said besides lower demand from millers in the spot market, higher supplies from producing regions pulled down chana prices at futures trade.
