Puducherry government has ordered that physical submission of application forms relating to 15 departments would be dispensed with from June 15 and the forms should be forwarded only through online.
The Directorate of Information and Technology of Puducherry government has stated in its order that the government intended to create a mechanism to deliver public services by utilising the network of the Common Services Centres (CSCs) as the national e-governance plan of the Centre aimed to make all government services accessible to common man in his locality through common service delivery outlets and to ensure efficiency, transparency and reliability of the services at affordable costs.
The order said that the initiative facilitating electronic service delivery would provide significant benefits to the citizens especially in the form of a single gateway to citizens for service delivery.
The State Portal, State Service Delivery Gateway and Electronic Forms Project would enable the citizens to fill the form either online or offline using their own infrastructures or CSCs and submit the form electronically to the concerned office of the concerned departments.
The application submitted online would be routed through State Service Delivery Gateway to the respective field office of the department responsible for providing the particular service. The State Portal would give information about the services.
Physical submission of forms relating to fifteen departments should be only through online mode from June 15 using e forms.
Among other things the online submission of forms relates to application for new ration card, issue of duplicate card, for changes in the cards. Computerised birth certificates, death certificates, name change in the certificates and other certificates issued by Local Administration department would be available only after online submission of relevant forms.
The major departments operating the new mode are Adi Dravidar Welfare, Revenue, directorate of School Education, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Industries and Commerce and Social Welfare.
