The 33-year-old 'The Vow' actor is the first male to receive the award for his contributions to the industry, reported MTV news.
"Channing Tatum is the quintessential leading man for the MTV audience. He proves that an action hero can have both a quick wit and a large heart," said Stephen Friedman, MTV president.
Actresses Emma Watson and Emma Stone have been the previous winners of the award.
Tatum will be next seen in his upcoming movies '22 Jump Street', 'Jupiter Ascending', 'Foxcatcher' and the animated movie 'The Book of Life'.
