The charges were framed in the Fast Track court of Pervez Alam against Razak, the Food minister, under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of IPC and the Arms Act.
Rajak and four others were accused in a case of attack on policemen near Children's' Park close to the residence of the district magistrate during immersion of the idol of Goddess Durga in October 1987.
An injured policeman, Lakshman Singh, had lodged a complaint at the Gandhi Maidan police station here.
The court ordered the next hearing on January 12.
