The alleged Naxals, including some senior leaders, were produced before the District Judge here yesterday and charges under sections of Indian Penal Code, Indian Arms Act and Damage to Public Property Act were framed against them.
The Maoists -- Prabhakar Suryadeora, Arun Parera, Anjela Sontakke, Anuradha Sonule, Mayuri Bhagat, Jyoti Chorghe, Bhimrao Bhowte, Sushma Rametke and Siddhartha Bhosle -- are accused of murder, attempt to murder, damage to public property and arson in connection with various incidents in the district.
All the accused were arrested in the last one year.
The court has fixed September 13 as the next date for hearing.
