It will be the turn of Queen Elizabeth-II to host 20 Chefs including President Pranab Mukherjee's Chef Machindra Kasture for this year's annual General assembly of the Club Chef des Chefs (CCC).
Always behind the scene at VVIP dinners and banquets, it's now time for 54-year-old Kasture, who has been the Chef of President of India since 2007, to sit back and relish the hospitality at an official function.
Being the Chef of the President, Kasture is member of Club Chef des Chefs in which only current personal chef of a Head of State or an executive chef of the venue that hosts official State receptions are members.
This year Queen Elizabeth-II will host the General Assembly members from July 19 to 25 at Windsor Castle in London, official sources said today. The chefs will also have a private visit to Buckingham Palace.
Members who are attending the assembly include Cristeta Comerford, Chef to the President of USA Barack Obama; Bernard Vaussion, Chef to the President of France Francois Hollande; and Magnus Ake Rehbhek, Chef to the King of Sweden Carl Gustaf XVI.
With a slogan of "Whilst politics can sometimes divide people, good food always brings them back together", CCC was started in 1977 by Gilles Bragard and since then many head of the states host a private dinner for these Chefs.
The get together of the Chefs des Chefs from different countries every year is to explore the local gastronomy and participate in various culinary activities that are designed to promote the profession.
It is also an opportunity for authorities in the host country to receive them officially as culinary ambassadors of their home country and thank them for their commitment to serving the important figures whose wellbeing they ensure.
So far, the US has played host twice to the Chef des Chefs during the tenure of Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev besides other world leaders have played host.
