"We have decided to upgrade the old terminals through reconstruction and these will be merged with new ones," Airports Authority of India Chairman R K Srivastava told reporters here.
The to-be built facility will be linked with the terminals commissioned three years ago, he added.
He said the project is expected to cost about Rs 1000 crore.
Member (Planning) S Raheja said structural issues with terminals commissioned in 2013 will be rectified during the construction of new terminals.
The new structures would be integrated with the terminals already opened in 2013 and movement for passengers will be seamless in and out of these facilities, they said.
